Metravise

What it's for

Sectors and industries are ranked by one measure: the gap between the group's return and the S&P 500's return over the selected period, in points.

How to use it

  1. 1M covers the last month and 3M the last three months; your choice carries through to the pages below.
  2. Groups are listed from the biggest gap to the smallest, so the top one is furthest ahead of the index.
  3. The “Status” column shows whether a group is Leading, Weakening, Improving or Lagging, and the arrow shows which way the gap is moving. Statuses

Good to know

  • Each sector and industry is an equal-weighted index of the stocks Metravise tracks, calculated every night from our own price data, with smoothed values.
  • It's the same calculation and order as “Sector status” on the Dashboard.
  • Industries with very few companies don't get a status; they appear at the bottom as “Few companies”.
